      A NEW GENERATION OF RACING



      The Gen-R is a key model for surf racing and all round paddling. The slightly recessed deck has been optimized to have great stability while easy-to-use when beach starting and getting back on the board. Lower rail height and reduced nose thickness is a much requested feature (especially from our lighter riders) for technical races, buoy turning and easy handling in choppy conditions.

       

      The Gen-R is a great fit between the flat water Sprint model and open ocean/all round All Star model. Additionally, youth riders will love this board for its speed and ease of use.

       

      THIN AND LIGHT DESIGN

      The new Gen R is thinner than its predecessor with less volume, making it lighter, faster and more nimble, particularly in side winds or during beach starts.

      NEW RAILS

      The round rails on toward the nose rails give control and tracking in the side wind, offering the perfect balance of control and balance.

      EXTENDED STANDING AREA

      The standing area on the new Gen R has been extended further forwards for easy stance trimming in sprints and downwind.

      NEW ROCKERLINE

      A blend of the previous Gen R toward the nose, combined with the All Star toward the back of the board. Great control in rough conditions while offering amazing acceleration in flatwater.

      LOW STANDING AREA

      The new Gen-R features a 1.5cm lower standing area than its predecessor. This slight drop results in a lower center of gravity for the rider, improving overall stability and control.

      NEW RECESSED EVA HANDLE

      1cm EVA Recessed handle gives a soft and forgiving grip during beach starts or when carrying the board. This handle is especially useful during running beach starts.

      NOSE VEE

      Designed to help shed water off the deck and improve the board’s handling in chop and waves and enhancing the “pop” in choppy conditions.

      DOUBLE PROTECTION FOR TRAVEL

      Every Gen R board comes with a premium board bag and board sock, giving you double-layer protection and added convenience when traveling, storing, or racing on the go.

      Board bag is included with every board (S25D25).
      Gen R Lite Tech boards come without a board bag.

       

      CONSTRUCTION:

      LITE TECH

      LIGHT, STRONG, AFFORDABLE

      • Extra rigidity with the introduction of unidirectional stringer bands and solid with added rail/ nose reinforcements.
      • Australian pine on the standing area for extra impact resistance and rigidity in the most critical area.
      • Comes with shoulder carry strap inserts. Starboard shoulder carry strap can be purchased aftermarket.
      • All inserts have added high-density foam reinforcements.

       

       

      The 25” will be one of our most popular Gen-R models because of its suitability for a range of riders in a variety of conditions. Riders up to 100 kg will love the Gen-R for surf and technical racing, small chop and semi-flatwater races. The thin profile, lightweight build is an exciting addition to the Starboard race range and is a much anticipated model for ocean and flat-water events, with faster acceleration, excellent surf performance and easy to use design for beach starts and buoy turns.
