Imagine SUP - Chopper Stable & Agile - Stand Up Paddle Boards

Imagine SUP - Chopper Stable & Agile - Stand Up Paddle Boards

Sometimes shorter is better. But why should you have to give up ease just because you want a shorter board? We agree and that’s why we created the Chopper.

Wide and stable, this board makes it possible to paddle out through the most demanding breaks, yet its shortened length helps you throw it around once on the waves like you’re on a performance board. This is what has made the Chopper such a success.

Imagine SUP - Crossover Surf - Stand Up Paddle Boards

Imagine SUP - Crossover Surf - Stand Up Paddle Boards

If you’re the kind of surfer who wants to surf ocean waves just as much as you want to go for casual paddles across the lake, then your prayers have been answered.

The name says it all for this amazing shape, which truly is opening doors and possibilities from coast to coast, and everything in the middle. A clean sweeping V-bow cuts effortlessly through the water, before running into the subtle concave center section and shallow V tail. The Outline of the tail combined with the rocker make this board surf like a charm for its size.

While it can never compare to a dedicated surf shape, or to a speeding flatwater sprinter, this compromise is so effective that it remains our best-selling board.

Imagine SUP - Lake Stand Up 10' - Paddle Boards

Imagine SUP - Lake Stand Up 10' - Paddle Boards

To say the Stand Up 10 Board is the baby of the line is not really true. Given its ample dimensions, the SUP 10 can easily transport everyone from the biggest guys to the smallest kids.

The Stand Up 10 is designed to be very stable, and very easy to paddle as soon as you step onto it the first time. It tracks amazingly well, so even beginners without a “J Stroke” can paddle it easily. It’s also designed to be a very dry ride, so it can be used in areas with warm air, and cold water. It’s short length also means its easy to transport and store. While it is not intended to be a surfing board, it is certainly capable of surfing easy waves for fun.

The board is outfitted much like a recreational kayak, with end and side grab handles so it can be carried by two people from the ends, a center recess to cary it solo, a hatch which allows access to the inside for gear transport (so you can cary your own stuff), bow deck rigging for quick access to water bottle, a wind breaker etc.

Like the Stand up 12 and 11, the board stacks onto itself so that you can cary several on your rack at once, and store them easily in your garage!

Imagine SUP - River Rapid Fire 9'10" - Stand Up Paddle Boards

Imagine SUP - River Rapid Fire 9'10" - Stand Up Paddle Boards

Imagine Eco shaper, Corran Addison, is a 3 time world medalist in freestyle kayaking, and held the world record for the largest waterfall ever run in a kayak for over a decade. It was only natural thus that his passion for Stand Up Paddling would eventually fuse with his love for running rivers.

Corran quickly realized that conventional SUP shapes are as wrong for the river environment as surf kayaks are to rivers, and for the same reasons. On peeling ocean waves, tucked thin rails, flat bottoms, and low rocker are ideal for slicing and dicing. These same features make the boards unwieldy on rivers to the extent that progression was instantly limited to lower difficulty rapids.

What Corran has done is apply his 20 years of kayak design knowledge to a river stand up board that is essentially a kayak design that you stand on. With high rocker in the nose leading back into well rounded and forgiving sidewalls, a thick “water shedding” center and nose profile so the board will lift up and over waves and drops, and deep foot recess areas for increased stability, the Rapidfire has opened the realm of possibility all the way up to class 5 whitewater.

What was unexpected however, was the boards ease in small ocean surf. As a result, vacation areas and rental operators are using this to give people their first taste of stand up paddling. It’ll paddle out through the rolling whitewater surf easily, and surfs in effortlessly for first timers to get hooked.

Imagine SUP - Lake Stand Up 11' - Stand Up Paddle Boards

Imagine SUP - Lake Stand Up 11' - Stand Up Paddle Boards

The Stand Up 11 paddle board differs from the SUP 12 and SUP 10 in that we made a few small but critical changes to the way we make the board to take it to that next level. The board performs much in the same way as the Stand Up 10 Paddle Board, with that little extra speed you get from the added length.  This is the perfect all around board for lakes and low class rivers and rapids. The boards are super durable!

The first change is that instead of using the twin layer sandwich construction of the other two boards, this uses a triple layer sandwich making it that little bit stronger. Then the hatch rims are molded right into the board, so no extra parts are screwed on which if not done with the same attention to detail that we use, could ultimately leak over time. The hatch covers are rubberized urethane urethane so you get a perfect seal. The front hatch is also much larger so you have that extra access to the inside for storage of your gear.

The bow bungee is replaced with a elastic netting, making it easier to keep odds and ends on board, and finally, a skid plate has been added to the keel so you can drag your board around without fear of wearing through the plastic. An optional extra fin can attach to this skid plate for extra tracking and speed. And finally, deck fittings for an optional kayak seat attachment are standard.

The Stand Up 11 Lake Paddle Board costs a little more than the other two, but you get your moneys worth for sure!
